Two lovely islands in the middle of Helsinki about which (to my surprise) even some locals do not know.
You can get to Lammassaari by public transport or car, then walk on duckboards for one kilometer, and to Kuusiluoto through Lammassaari.
An accessible 4-kilometer route (mostly duckboards) is suitable for all ages, physical forms, and even a wheelchair (but the last one only on Lammassaari). It will take approximately two hours to walk there and back.
Lammassaari is a perfect place for birding with its two bird towers, several watching platforms, and migrating birds, stopping there during spring and autumn.
I have noticed dozens of species there, from usual city birds to waterfowl and waders.
